Meet HighScope
The Curriculum Behind Our Classrooms
We use the HighScope curriculum, a research-based framework with more than 50 years of proven results in early childhood education. HighScope is built on a simple but powerful idea: children learn best when they are active participants in their own education. That means your child spends their days exploring, making choices, and developing skills that go far beyond ABCs and 123s.

The Framework
Learning That Meets Your Child Where They Are

Infants & Toddlers
Safety, Warmth, and Wonder
With infants and toddlers, the most important thing we can do is build trust. Our teachers focus on nurturing curiosity and exploration within consistent, loving relationships. When a child feels secure, they begin to develop independence, early communication, and the confidence to engage with the world around them.

Preschool
Plan. Do. Review. Repeat.
Our preschool classrooms follow HighScope's signature plan-do-review cycle during their work time. Each day, children plan an activity, carry it out, and then reflect on what they experienced. This simple structure builds problem-solving, self-regulation, social skills, and cognitive development in a way that feels like play because it is. Joyful, purposeful, child-led play.

The Teacher's Role
Classroom Guide
In a HighScope classroom, teachers are active partners in learning. They observe, ask questions, and support each child at their own pace. Teachers thoughtfully arrange and equip the classroom so your child can grow at their own pace, be consistently encouraged, and always be known as an individual.
The Research
40 Years of Evidence Says This Works
HighScope's landmark Perry Preschool Study followed participants for over 40 years. Children who experienced high-quality early childhood education were more likely to graduate high school, hold steady employment, and thrive as adults.
Choosing a high-quality program now is one of the most meaningful decisions you'll make for your child's future.

Our Foundation
All of This, In a Christ-Centered Community
At DSA, our curriculum is strengthened by something no research study can fully measure: a community rooted in faith. Bible stories, songs, prayers, and worship are woven into each day. Every child here is seen as uniquely made and deeply loved by God, and that shapes how they are taught, encouraged, and celebrated.
We love because he first loved us.
